  • I want government assistance for Double Cheeseburgers

My health insurance sucks.  The PPO sucks so bad I only pay for the equally shitty HMO.  I am not big on doctors so I just have it incase of a big issue.  I am by no means an expert in things like this, but I have health insurance, and from what I keep reading I am asked to help pay for other people that cannot get it.

Last year and again this year I was told that I would be giving a bunch of my tax money to banks and companies that are too big to fail.  I obtained a good mortgage, pay my bills and have near perfect credit.  For some reason I am taking care of people and companies that cannot do the same.

I turned on my TV and I see commercials for a TracPhone service for a free cellphone for people that cannot afford it.  In fact it says if you get food stamps you probably qualify.  In the commercial it shows people in a house nicer than mine baking cookies and talking on the phone, because you know,  baking is an emergency.  This is a government sponsored program, in which one company (TracPhone) seems to have the contract.  We pay a single company to provide a cellphone and 80 minutes a month to people that cannot afford it.  I guess a free landline is just not hip enough anymore,  you know a line that does not depend on outside power to operate, a line that cannot be turned off because your minutes run out.

I can continue listing things like this.  Stupid government programs that serve no purpose except waste money.  You want health care reform?  I got one for you.. and call me crazy for this, because I think it makes sense.  Wait for it… help people stay and get healthy.  The government will get on the bandwagon to ban smoking and tax smoking to make it more expensive to smoke, but have you ever wondered why they don’t offer patches, gum, inhalers, pills or lozenges to people paid for by the government?  Same with booze, trans-fats and other health issues.  They love to grandstand, but when it comes to actually helping, they would rather pay (or have you pay) companies to get healthier.  The same thing is happening with the health care reform,  they are figuring out the best way to get your money.  80% of the people in the US have healthcare,  I would guess that those 80% are expected to pay for the other 20%.  Explain how that makes sense?

How about we support health reform?  Free fresh produce,  paid for by the government.  Empty lots turned into urban farms, worked by the people that are getting free cell phones, mortgage payments, and $100 bonuses each month in their unemployment.  How about we put the midwest small farmers back in business?  How about we turn run down buildings into gyms, free for use for the people with free cellphones as well as those people that pay their own cellphone bill.  How about we put metal workers to work building the equipment for the gyms?  For fucks sake,  if you want socialism, lets do this shit right and make it benefit society and not just your voting base.
